Support Worker
Support workers in the Bristol area to support a service user in their own home
Your role
Dean Healthcare are hiring for support workers in the Bristol area to support a service user in their own home who has a diagnosis of Spina Bifida and is a full-time wheelchair user.
This role would include working weekends with the following day shifts- 11:00-15:00, 17:00-21:00 and waking night shift 22:00-07:00.
Requirements
This role will include supporting with personal care, moving and handling tasks, meal preparation and administering medication. The right candidate will be experience in catheter care and be happy with lone-working.
The Service user does sometimes have their dog in the house so you must be happy to be around animals.

Duties
- Help to support our client to reach their goals
- Liaising with the team regarding support with the service user
- Support with healthy, nutritional meal prep
- Emotional support
- Administering medication

- Domestic duties
About you-
- Preferably at least 12 months of relevant professional experience.
- Willing to go DBS and reference checks
- You have a sensitive and willing approach
- Experience with learning disabilities preferred but not essential.
- Physically able to undertake moving and handling requirements (training provided)
- A confident and calming approach to challenging behaviour (training provided)
- Willing to try new things.
- A confident and capable communicator, with good written and spoken English.
- Right to work in the UK.
