Senior Registered Children’s Home Cluster Manager

Dean Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Senior Registered Children’s Home Cluster Manager.


Your role

Our client provides the young person accommodation, independent living skills, positive relationship building and ongoing crisis support. They prepare young people towards independence and are committed to improving outcomes.

You will initially be responsible for two 2 bedded homes based in Gloucestershire. In collaboration with the COO the successful candidate will then be responsible for helping identify, develop and register another home, of which they will be the Registered Manager of this cluster. Each home will have their own Deputy, Education Lead and supportive Responsible Individual to ensure each home has the infrastructure required to develop outstanding services for Children.

Requirements

  • Responsible for day to day management
  • Ensuring full compliance with the Ofsted regulations
  • To ensure staff are fully equipped to carry out their roles and responsibilities
  • Build positive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Provide high quality support for young people that is person-centred and to promote independence and well-being
  • To meet the regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to annual service reviews
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulations, legislations, policies and procedures
  • Carry out regular reviews and updates
  • Implement the Ofsted published Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations including Quality Standards and relevant in all service delivery and compliance
  • Deliver support and supervisions
  • Promote positive relationships with external agencies
  • Chair meeting when required
  • Attend multi-agency management meetings

Essential criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience of relevant management / leadership experience in a Children’s Home. Level 5 Award. Have achieved Good or Outstanding through Ofsted inspection experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards and other relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for our services
  • Minimum 2 years’ management of staff including; including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management, and fostering a team culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Excellent crisis management skills and the ability to effectively deal with stressful and difficult situations with limited supervision
  • A full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle for work purposes
  • Able to form part of an on-call rota providing out of hours support (digitally and including cover for shifts – day/ evenings/weekends/waking nights in an emergency)
  • Able to work flexibly and sometimes unsociable hours
  • Possess/gain and maintain a satisfactory enhanced disclosure and barring service check
