Specialist Care Assistant
We are recruiting additional Carers to support 2 sister services in the rural East side of Hereford. Providing the best of care, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference.
Your role
Working with an experienced and dedicated team, you will provide care to residents with complex, profound disabilities. Working on a low ratio, you’ll be assisting the residents with their therapeutic sessions, mealtimes and personal care. You will receive full induction and ongoing training to ensure you are fully understanding of how important and appreciated your role is. The shifts vary, and you will be able to select what suits your schedule, we can even offer shifts in alternative places to help you grow your career. Your Duties
- You will need to be comfortable with high levels of personal care
- Assistance with therapeutic sessions, outings and family visits
- Using specialist equipment (once trained) to aid with movement, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing
- Communicating in various ways, including using aids with residents, and written record keeping
- Following care plans and risk assesments
- Working as part of the team, assisting and supporting others where needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 9 months care experience
- Willing to complete specialist training subject to the needs of a client
- All positions and posts are subject to a DBS check
- Ability to work well under pressure and dealing with difficult situations
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Driving Licence is preferred but not essential
- Must be able to communicate effectively
